Arsenal have signed Brazilian centre back Gabriel Magalhaes from French side Lille on a extended-phrase contract, the Premier League club explained on Tuesday.
Money facts of the deal have been not disclosed but British media reported Arsenal paid about £27 million (US$36.three million) for the 22-yr-outdated.
Gabriel produced 34 appearances in all competitions for Lille final season as they completed fourth in Ligue one.

He also had loan spells at French club Troyes and Croatian side Dinamo Zagreb through his 3-yr remain at Lille.
“He has a lot of characteristics which will make us more powerful as a defensive unit and as a crew,” manager Mikel Arteta explained in a statement.
“He has proved with Lille that he is a defender with a lot of exceptional attributes and we are hunting forward to viewing him increase as an Arsenal player.”
