umbai Indians coach Mahela Jayawardene uncovered that opening batsman Quinton de Kock was sporting his practice pants in the course of their match towards Kolkata Knight Riders in Abu Dhabi.

De Kock scored a match-winning 78 not out as MI gunned down the target of 149 with eight wickets in hands in just sixteen.five overs to grab provisional top rated spot on the IPL 2020 factors table. Soon after the game information emerged that de Kock was not sporting his official match jersey.

“Apart from Quinny going and batting with his practice pants, all the things else was very respectable,” Jayawardene informed de Kock in a video that was uploaded by MI on their Twitter.

“Ok, so really do not do that once more for the reason that the advertising guys are going nuts, men and women went nuts as properly. If it operates, it operates but we’ll kind some thing else.”

Quinton de Kock, who was awarded the Guy of the Match for his effectiveness towards KKR and even thanked Jayawardene for motivating him ahead of the game. De Kock opened up about his interaction with head coach Mahela Jayawardene publish Mumbai’s match towards Delhi Capitals, on October eleven, and how that drove him to finish this game towards KKR.

“People shots [on the leg-side] are just 1 of the shots I have in my armoury. I do not strategy to do that, it is just pure. It is just about holding my stability and taking part in them as I see them. Final game I was disappointed I did not finish the game. Mahela had a couple of phrases with us. So I had to rectify that. Mahela can come tricky at you if you do some thing ordinary”, de Kock, the Guy of the Match, explained at the publish-match presentation.

“To be straightforward, I have played this game ample to know you can not do something about it if you drop 1. You have to carry on and do the very best for your workforce. I am a improved keeper than that. I am doing work on some facets of the holding, but I believe I can maintain enhancing on that element of the game.”

MI are presently 2nd on the factors table and will encounter Kings XI Punjab in the 1st match of the double-header on October 18 (Sunday).
