Red Fort violence: Sunny Deol disassociates from Deep Sidhu, says have no link with him

New Delhi: Actor and BJP MP Sunny Deol disassociated himself with Punjabi actor Deep Sidhu who was amid the protesters who entered the Red Fort for the duration of farmers’ tractor parade in Delhi on the Republic Day (January 26). 

In a tweet in Hindi, Sunny wrote, “I really feel deeply saddened by the incident that occured at the Red Fort right now. I have clarified this just before as nicely via Twitter that neither me nor my household has any relation with Deep Sidhu. Jai Hind.”

Following Sunny Deol distanced himself from Sidhu, quite a few netizens flayed the actor-turned-MP for his stance. As per reviews, Deep was Sunny’s aide when the latter contested from the Gurdaspur seat in Punjab for the duration of the 2019 Lok Sabha elections. Quite a few took to Twitter and posted an previous video of Sunny with Deep exactly where the former calls him like a “younger brother” in an interview. On January 26 (Tuesday), 1000’s of protesting farmers stormed the Red Fort and hoisted a religious flag there. In a video launched by Deep, who was amid the protesters, the actor stated that the nationwide flag was not eliminated from the flagpole. 

“To symbolically register our protest towards the new farm legislation, we place up ‘Nishan Sahib’ and a farmer flag and also raised a slogan of Kisan Mazdoor Ekta. The flag represents the country’s unity in diversity, he explained when pointing in direction of the ‘Nishan Sahib’, a symbol of Sikh religion noticed at all Gurdwara complexes,” he explained.
